A story ran a few days ago in The Telegraph in Calcutta, India regarding Porsche's plan to
roll out the Panamera sedan in 2009. Porsche expects the Panamera, which is the German
marque's first production sedan, to increase its car sales by 700 to 800 a year.

Next on tap for the Panamera will be Porsche's announcement of a hybrid version.

Ashish Chordia, chief executive officer of Porsche Cars India, said, “Our research shows that
India is basically a sedan market, which is why we are keen to hit the road with the Panamera.”

When asked about the Panamera hybrid, Chordia refused to confirm its launch.

“We have plans for hybrid engines. If such engines are made, they will be launched in India
along with the rest of the world.”

Head over to the Panamera Forum and let us know what you think of the Panamera.
