![]() Porsche's new 911 GT2 Porsche continues to innovate and as enthusiasts of their brand, we benefit. Each model is continually refined and the performance benefits are amazing with each version. The new GT2 is no exception. With a 50 bhp increase over the standard 911 Turbo's 3.6-liter, the GT2 offers a power-to-weight ratio of 6 lb per horsepower. And the sprint to 100 km/h comes in a scant 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 204 mph. Fuel consumption is down by 15%, with the GT2 getting about 22.6 mpg. The increase in horsepower comes in part with the combination of a turbocharged engine with an expansion-type intake manifold, a first for Porsche's engineers. The expansion intake manifold uses the principle of oscillating air in the intake The new GT2 will come standard with PCCB brakes incorporating a composite carbon fibre/ceramic compound with the added benefit of reducing unsprung weight by 44 lbs. The GT2 will arrive in dealers this November. |
