Porsche's new 911 GT2 takes the Nürburgring in one hot lap.
Not long after releasing information regarding the new 911 GT2, Porsche announced that the car has circled the Nürburgring in 7:32. When compared to other high performance production cars such as the Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo SE and Ferrari 599 GTB, the new 911 GT2 bests each by 23, 25 and 27 seconds respectively.
Expected to be in dealerships in November of this year, Porsche's new 911 GT2 flies to 60 mph in a scant 3.6 seconds, reaching 100 mph 3.8 seconds later. Using Porsche's 3.6 liter turbo-charged flat-six, the GT2 pumps out 530 hp with a maximum 505 lb-ft of torque available at a relatively low 2200 rpm.
With a top speed of 204 mph, the new 911 GT2 is the first production Porsche to exceed 200 mph.
