Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S packs a punch with 550 hp.


Porsche added another model to their Cayenne line with the recent introduction of the Cayenne Turbo S. Packing a twin-turbo 4.8 liter V8, the Turbo S pumps out an amazing 550 hp.

Revealed at the Auto China 2008 in Beijing, Porsche has introduced the high-performance SUV in response to customer demand. According to Porsche, "There is huge demand, especially in the new emerging markets of Eastern Europe and Asia, for exclusive sports-style SUVs with top quality physical handling dynamics."

Porsche squeezed the additional horsepower by modifying the exhaust and engine management. The Cayenne Turbo S will reach 60 mph in 4.7 sec and top out at 174 mph.

Here's some specs from Porsche...

  • Engine: V8 with two parallel exhaust turbo loaders
  • Fuel injection: direct fuel injection (DFI)
  • Displacement: 293.3 cu in
  • Bore: 3.78 in
  • Stroke: 3.27 in
  • Compression ratio: 10.5:1
  • Max. power output: 550 hp at 6,000 rpm
  • Max. torque: 750 Nm from 2,250 rpm to 4,500 rpm
  • Gearbox: Six-speed Tiptronic S converter automatic
  • Transmission: Permanent all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) with transfer gearshift
  • All-wheel moment distribution: 38 % : 62 %
