Porsche CayenneA reader e-mailed me the other day pretty excited about news he had heard of Porsche’s expansion into the Indian market. I think, more than anything, he wanted this little tidbit confirmed by someone other than himself.

Porsche talked late last year about the possibility of opening a manufacturing facility in India, not only to serve the rapidly expanding Indian market but the entire middle East region.

Porsche dominates the 12 Hours of Sebring

Proves to be Roger Penske's first win at Sebring in 40 years

American Le Mans SeriesPorsche's in both the LMP2 and GT2 class appeared unstoppable today, with the RS Spyder's and 911 GT3 RSR's driving trouble-free races.

In addition, Penske Racing's bright yellow RS Spyder was the overall winner, the first at Sebring by an LMP2 car.

This was also the first overall win for Porsche since 1988 when Hans Stuck and Klaus Ludwig were victorious in a Porsche 962.

American Le Mans SeriesStuttgart. With the 12 hour race in Sebring/Florida, the new American Le Mans Series season takes off on 15th March. Driving the Porsche RS Spyder, Timo Bernhard (Germany) and Romain Dumas (France) contest America’s oldest sports car race as title defenders and consider their chances to be good. “We are very well prepared,” says Timo Bernhard, “and we will do everything in our power to build on Porsche’s great success with the RS Spyder at this classic.”

RS Spyders fastest in LMP2 class

American Le Mans SeriesEven though qualifying was interrupted by an accident, the 2008 season of the American Le Mans Series is set to kick off this weekend, with Porsche RS Spyder's hoping to repeat last season's successes.

Hoping to steal some of their thunder, Acura's ARX has had a productive off-season and should give the RS Spyder's a run for their money.

Porsche 911 production delayed by fire

Porsche paint shopA gas explosion in the paint shop of Stuttgart, the primary assembly facility in Zuffenhausen, has delayed production of Porsche's 911 for two to three days. The gas escaped from an oven used as part of the vehicle paint drying process.
