Porsche recently announced that by the end of this decade, a Cayenne Hybrid will be available for environmentally conscience consumers.
Based on the V6 Cayenne, the Cayenne Hybrid will use what Porsche is calling a parallel full hybrid. Instead of branching or splitting the gasoline and electric engines, the electric engine will drop between the V6 and the transmission.
This in-line layout adapts well to the existing Cayenne platform without hindering luggage space or restricting it's all-wheel drive capabilities.

Accusing Porsche of being "climate pigs", Greenpeace was warmly greeted but also put in their place by simple facts. One being especially important, that less than one-tenth of 1 per cent of exhaust emissions in Germany come from Porsche's cars. Automobiles in general contribute less than 12 per cent of all exhaust emissions in Germany.

Porsche continues to innovate and as enthusiasts of their brand, we benefit. Each model is continually refined and the performance benefits are amazing with each version. The new GT2 is no exception.
With a 50 bhp increase over the standard 911 Turbo's 3.6-liter, the GT2 offers a power-to-weight ratio of 6 lb per horsepower. And the sprint to 100 km/h comes in a scant 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 204 mph. Fuel consumption is down by 15%, with the GT2 getting about 22.6 mpg. | | No comments for this item |
